Spike in Attacks
This recent surge in shark attacks has heightened awareness and concern among experts. According to the Florida Museum of Natural History's International Shark Attack File, 120 alleged shark-human interactions occurred worldwide in 2023. Florida holds the dubious distinction of leading the charts for such attacks for years running.
Separate Incidents
The two most recent victims were both attacked while fishing in Key West. The first incident involved a man who was bitten on the leg last week. The second victim, who was bitten on the foot on Friday, is currently being treated at a local hospital.
